Supreme Court: The Supreme Court was hearing a plea that alleged discrepancies in NEET PG 2022 scores, and on Monday it refused to stay the counselling. The SC said it would not take a radical step like this, and the court set August 25 as the next hearing date.
The bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud was hearing the plea filed by some doctors who seeking directions for the release of question papers and answer keys of NEET PG 2022.

The petitioners have challenged the National Board of Examination’s (NBE) decision to not release the answer key and question paper, alleging that the board did this despite knowing that there are serious differences in the scores.
Moving on, the petitioners asked the court to direct the NBE to allow NEET-PG 2022 candidates, including the petitioners, the option of revaluation in case of a difference in their scores.
The bench was informed by the counsel appearing for the petitioners that a related petition regarding NEET PG 2021 is also pending before the court. The court then tagged both the cases together and directed the matters to be listed on August 25 for a final hearing.

The plea is filed by the doctor who has completed their MBBS and is now registered with the state medical councils. As per the petitioners, they found a crucial mismatch in their NEET PG 2022 scores. Still, the NBE is not providing the candidates with any other option to re-evaluate the scores they scored in the NEET PG 2022 exams in order to rule out the possibility of differences in their marks
Pointing out to NBE, the petitioners said that the National Testing Agency (NTA), CMAT, and CLAT also give the candidates option to challenge the answer keys but not NBE.
