Telangana University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dachepalli Ravinder has been arrested by Nizamadabad Police’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The arrest has been made over alleged case of accepting 50000 rupees bribe. The ACB team made the arrest on Saturday after VC had demanded bribe from the president of a private education institution a week prior.
Bribe over allotment of examination centre
Ravinder was caught accepting bribe from D Shankar, President of Sri Shridi Sai Educational Society in Armoor town in Nizamabad. D Shankar was seeking to promote his institute in the campus and wanted allotment of examination center. The ACB recovered the bribe money from an almirah at VC Ravinder’s residence in his Tarnataka home at Hyderabad.

Case Proceedings
The ACB team had conducted search at the VC’s house after he had been tested positive for phenolphthalein test. The accused will be produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Hyderabad.
