TRAI and Cyber Cell of DME Educate Students on Unsolicited Commercial Communication and Cyber Fraud Prevention

On Friday, September 13, 2024, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), in collaboration with the Cyber Cell of Delhi Metropolitan Education (DME), Noida, organized a consumer outreach program on unsolicited commercial communication (UCC) in the seminar hall of the college. The event saw participation from around 100 students across Media, Law, and Management disciplines, along with approximately 20 special guests from Telecom Companies such as Jio, Airtel, BSNL, etc., and including five officers from TRAI: Mr. Anand Kumar Singh (Advisor), Mr. S.M.K. Chandra (Joint Advisor), Mr. Manish Jain (Joint Advisor), Mr. Sushil Kumar Bansal (Senior Research Officer), Mr. Devesh Kushwaha (ASO), and one officer from I4C, Mrs. Nisha Pandey.

The program commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Ravi Kant Swami, Director of DME, followed by a ceremonial felicitation of the guests. Shri Anand Kumar Singh, Advisor, provided a brief introduction of TRAI before inviting Mr. Manish Jain, Joint Advisor, and Mrs. Nisha Pandey from I4C as the main speakers. They discussed topics such as UCC, cyber fraud, and the information regarding the cyber helpline website and number. Mementos were presented to Prof. Dr. Ravi Kant Swami and Mrs. Nisha Pandey by Mr. Anand Kumar Singh from TRAI.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Anand Kumar Singh. It was organized under the guidance of Dr. Farah Hayat (Faculty Convenor), Ms. Souma B. Sarkar (Faculty Co-convenor), and Ms. Srishti Balam (Faculty Member).
