The University Grants Commission (UGC) has revised the academic calendar for first-year students or the freshers we can say. The academic session for 2020-2021 has already been affected by the surge of COVID-19 in India.

According to the latest UGC calendar, the academic session for the freshers will now begin in the month of November and this delay will spill over the next academic session as well.

The Commission has also urged the universities to complete the admission process by the end of October. Its guidelines further stated so said that in case of cancellation of admissions and migration of students, a full refund of fees should be made.

The schools and colleges across the nation are closed since the first lockdown in March and after that, it kept on delayed due to the havoc COVID situations in the country.

Till now there is no update from the Home Ministry of India on the physical reopening of schools and colleges. But according to the UGC guidelines, at least the online mode of education
