The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has added biographies of the Hindutva ideologist VD Savarkar, Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji, and tribal leader Birsa Munda to the curriculum for Classes 9 through 12.
The curriculum includes biographies of writers Pandit Shriram Sharma and Jawaharlal Nehru, spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda, Arya Samaj founder Swami Dayanand Saraswati, and India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
Dibyakant Shukla, the secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), told PTI that the moral education curriculum for classes nine through twelve now includes biographies of 11 leaders.
In addition to this, numerous other topics from the realm of science and technology have been incorporated into the computer curriculum, according to Shukla.
According to him, the goal of incorporating new material into the curriculum is to ensure that kids are developing holistically.
Asanas, mudras, pranayama, and Surya Namaskar are all covered in class 9’s curriculum. Additionally, he added, Ashtanga yoga has also been thoroughly described.
There will be a written test and a practical test for students to take as part of the curriculum for moral education, yoga, sports, and physical education. Each test will be worth 50 marks.
According to Shukla, the board has included topics like 3D printing, cloud computing, Internet of Things, digital currency, block chain technology, artificial intelligence, and other new technologies in the computer syllabus for class 11.
The computer curricula for class 12 now includes Core Java and Advanced Java as well as robotics, drone technology, and those languages.
