Uttarakhand: Higher Education department decides to implement a uniform academic calendar for all the State universities

The Higher Education Department has recently decided to implement a uniform academic calendar for all state universities in Uttarakhand. After this decision, after the approval of the proposal by the state government, the timetable of admission, entrance examination, result and student election will be the same in all state universities. Apart from this, the compulsion of 75 percent attendance and 180 days of classes will be implemented to appear in the examination.

Here’s What Students Says

Economics student Manya Rathi said, “The department has come up with a good idea to solve the problems of the students and this decision will surely benefit the students. It would be good if the government would consider more changes like extending the duration of the entrance exams. Three consecutive days as this will enable the students to appear for other examinations of the university as well.”

Student also appreciated the decision taken by the department

Political Honors student Ritika Singh also appreciated the decision taken by the department. She said, “I suffered while getting admission in my university just because my result was not released on time. It would also be better if the government relaxes the 75% attendance criteria to appear in the exams as college students often do part time jobs and some are also involved in their hobbies due to which it is difficult to manage 75% attendance. Ananya Tiwari also praised this decision and said that this decision is commendable.”

Meanwhile, observers point out that the decisions taken by the department have the potential to resolve various issues being faced by the students. However, the result will depend on the efficiency of the execution.
