Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film, “12th Fail,” featuring Vikrant Massey, has unexpectedly gained success and has been submitted for consideration at the Oscars as an independent nomination. Massey, discussing his journey at Sahitya AajTak 2023, opened up about his struggles in the industry since the age of 15, emphasizing the need to support himself and relieve his father of college fee burdens.
The actor, also a trained dancer under Shiamak Davar, showcased his skills on stage during the interview.
About the film:
Released in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, on October 27, “12th Fail” narrates the life stories of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, based on Anurag Pathak’s novel.
In significant parts in 12th Fail are Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee. It is based on the novel by Anurag Pathak about Manoj Kumar Sharma, an Indian Police Service officer who rose from poverty.
Earning of the film:
On October 27, 2023, 12th Fail, opened in theatres. After more than a month of operation at the ticket windows, 45.10 crores have been earned thus far. That might not seem like much, but not when you consider that its budget is barely 20 crores.
