New Delhi: The Farhan Akhtar directorial movie “Dil chahta hai” completed 20 years of release today. The movie featured Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna and Preity Zinta in the lead and was a huge success. The movie continues to enjoy massive fan following, which Preity Zinta had already predicted on the first day of the film’s shoot.
Sharing fond memories of ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, Preity wrote on Twitter, “This is surreal, celebrating #20YearsOfDilChahtaHai. I remember Farhan telling me that whenever he makes a film, he would love for me to be a part of it. A few months later, we signed on for Dil Chahta Hai and we had so much fun on set.”
Remembering, how she had predicted the film’s success, the actress added, “I told @FarOutAkhtar on d first day of shoot, that this will be a cult film & he laughed at me. Today after all these years I’m so proud of the film we made. I have so many fond memories from d shoot & always have a big smile on my face when I remember those mad days.”
Interestingly, coinciding with the release date of ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, Farhan Akhtar has announced his next directorial. Akhtar is making yet another road trip movie, but this time with three actresses. Farhan is going to call the shots for ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, starring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
This entertainer is written by Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar and Reema Kagti with Reema Kagti, Zoya Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan producing the venture. The makers are planning to release thw film in 2023.
Apart from the storyline, the production and the cast of dil chahta hai, the sound track of the movie is something to remember. The evergreen songs are still heard and admired.
