Aamir Khan: Mr. Perfectionist- Aamir Khan is known for choosing the right scripts and the right people when it comes to his projects. And it is after 4 years that he is returning on the big screen, with much anticipated film- ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. The film which is directed by Advait Chandan is all set to release this year on August 11th. The project is a remake of Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump, released in 1994. And it soon after the trailer release, that the film started facing some backlash on Twitter. The hashtag ‘Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha’ started trending on all social media platforms.
Now finally the ‘Dangal’ actor has spoken about this boycott trend and how such campaigns against his films do upset him.
Aamir khan has finally reacted to the ‘boycott’ trend
So Aamir has finally spoken about this trend in an interview and said, “ Yes, I feel sad. Also, I feel sad that some of the people who are saying this, in their hearts, believe that I am someone who doesn’t like India. In their hearts, they believe, but it is untrue. It is rather unfortunate that some people feel that way. That’s not the case. Please don’t boycott my film. Please watch my film”.
The reason for this BOYCOTT?
So this trend actually began after a section of the users dug out Aamir Khan’s 2015 interview clip, where he said that his ex-filmmaker wife Kiran Rao had suggested they move countries because of “growing intolerance.” And It was soon after this, that his comments had provoked nationwide protests.
And now it’s not just Aamir, but netizens are trolling Kareena Kapoor Khan as well. Why? Well, Kareena’s statement on nepotism and asking people to not watch her films if they don’t want to in an old video, is not going down well with some individuals even now.
Similar to PK and Dhoom 3?
Well, soon after the trailer came out, some individuals compared Aamir’s look and expressions in the film with his precious projects like PK and Dhoom 3. Talking about this Aamir said, “People need to see the film in totality before coming to a conclusion. The only common factor that I can see between the character in Lal Singh Chaddha and what I played in PK and Dhoom 3, is the fact that they were all innocent characters, so I believe one can show innocence in a certain way.”
