Actor Yoo Ah-in has been prohibited from leaving the nation and is the subject of a police investigation into his alleged illicit use of propofol. It is a potent anesthetic frequently used for standard procedures. On Monday, Yoo was questioned by the Seoul Metropolitan Police’s drug crime investigation section. Because he was on suspicion of breaking the Narcotics Control Act. Yoo was questioned by the police in relation to claims that he frequently visited different hospitals where propofol was routinely prescribed.

When Yoo received repeated propofol prescriptions, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety noticed this and alerted the police. The National Forensic Service was asked to conduct a drug test after the police acquired Yoo’s body hair.
Yoo is the subject of an investigation, according to UAA, Yoo’s entertainment company. “Police recently questioned Yoo Ah-in about his use of propofol. In an official letter released by the organisation on Wednesday, it was stated that Yoo had been actively assisting with all inquiries.
Propofol abuse carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail and a maximum fine of 100 million won ($79,000). Influential people have been penalised for illegally abusing propofol, including Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong and actress Ha Jung-woo.
