As per the fake advisory, all non-local labourers in Kashmir were to be shifted by district police authorities to the nearest army or police camps immediately.
“Order asking district police authorities to relocate non-local labourers to Police/Army camps is fake: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir,” the Zonal Police tweeted.
The fake advisory emerged after a terrorist attack in which two non-local labourers were shot dead and another injured in Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Sunday. A street hawker from Bihar and a labourer from Uttar Pradesh died in two consecutive attacks by Jammu and Kashmir police on Sunday.
The advisory, which claims to have been issued by the Inspector General of Police in Kashmir read, “All non-local labourers in your respective jurisdictions be brought to nearest police/CAPF/Army establishments/camps just now.”
