Pathaan: Recently, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said “who is Shah Rukh Khan,” sending everyone into a state of shock. The CM made the remarks when a few reporters interrogated him about the violence at a movie theatres where the superstar’s film is scheduled to release on January 25.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had previously said: “Who exactly is Shah Rukh Khan? I’m not familiar with him or his film Pathaan.” His remark came amid the nationwide controversies surrounding the film. But after speaking over the phone with the actor, Sarma seems to have changed his perception.

Taking to Twitter, Assam CM said that Shah Rukh Khan dialled him at 2 AM on January 22. “Bollywood actor Shri @iamsrk called me and we talked today morning at 2 am. He expressed concern about an incident in Guwahati during screening of his film. I assured him that it’s duty of state govt to maintain law & order. We’ll enquire and ensure no such untoward incidents,” Assam CM wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, Assam chief minister had said he doesn’t know anything either about Shah Rukh or his film Pathaan. “Khan has not called me, though many from Bollywood do so, regarding the problem. But if he does, I will look into the matter. Action will be taken if law and order has been violated and a case has been filed,” he said.
Two days ago, Bajrang Dal activists had disrupted the management at a theatre in Guwahati’s Narengi where Pathaan will release on January 25. The right wingers also burnt down film’s posters, calling for its boycott.
