Ahead of Varisu and Thunivu clash, A look at most famous box office Pongal face offs of Tollywood including Parama Veera and Chakra

Varisu and Thunivu clash

Varisu and Thunivu clash: The majority of the people in India prefers to watch new films and have a good time during the auspicious season, therefore festivals and movie releases go hand in hand. Many filmmakers like to release their films during this selling season in order to profit from viewers’ splurges and extract healthy collections. Large-budget movies typically reserve these release dates months in advance of opening. They have a reasonable advantage at the ticket windows because to this tradition.

Thunivu and Varisu in 2022

Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu and Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu are scheduled to open on January 11, 2023, after significant delay, opposition, and other challenges. Once more, and unlike any other time before, they will clash at BO. This Pongal, Ajith and Vijay will square off in the ultimate brawl for the first time in eight years. The simultaneous release of Ajith’s “Veeram” and Vijay’s “Jilla” in 2014 resulted in a furious verbal fight between the two fan bases on social media and outside movie theatres.

Golconda High School, Mirapakaya and Parama Veer Chakra in 2011

Telugu cinema’s holiday season at the beginning of 2011 turned out to be a mixed bag without a true super-hit. Sumanth’s “Golconda High School” with acclaimed director Indraganti Mohan Krishna turned out to be an average grosser whereas Ravi Teja’s blockbuster “Mirapakaya” with solid openers topped the chart. Both Balakrishna’s patriotic film “Parama Veera Chakra” and Siddharth’s fantasy-adventure “Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu” received terrible box office results.

In Tollywood, Sankranthi turned out to be more colorful in 2016. Up to four huge movies descended to the theatres to try their luck at the ticket counters. Surprisingly, all of these movies, including “Nannaku Prematho,” “Soggade Chinni Nayana,” “Express Raja,” and “Dictator,” were able to make a lot of money and receive positive reviews. Nandamuri Balakrishna must be content with an average outcome while Junior NTR, Nagarjuna, and Sharwanand achieved major hits.

The two titans of Telugu film, Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna, have enjoyed unrivalled stardom for more than 40 years in both Telugu States. The experienced pair has competed against each other up to 16 times at the box office, and movie buffs have dubbed it the clash of the Titans. With Sharwanand’s family-friendly film “Shatamanam Bhavathi” and Chiru’s 150th feature “Khaidi No. 150” competing during Pongal, the expected confrontation occurred once more in 2016.
