Ajay Devgns starrer much anticipated film ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’ finally has a release date. Like most of the films, in the backdrop of pandemic, the Ajay Devgn starrer is slated to release on OTT and will premiere from August 13 on Disney+Hostar VIP. The trailer of the film will be released on July 12.The actor took to Instagram to share the information and wrote, “‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’. 1971. The greatest battle ever fought… releasing on August 13.”
The film is set amid the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war and will see Ajay portraying the the role of Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik in the film. Directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’ also features actors Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Ammy Virk in pivotal roles. Nora Fatehi and Sharad Kelkar will also be seen in the film.
Going by the motion poster of the film, Pakistan raided the Bhuj Airfield 35 times in 14 days during the historic War of 1971. Vijay Karnik, essayed by Ajay Devgn, was the in charge of the Bhuj Airbase and was instrumental in remaining operation despite heavy bombing from Pakistan.
Bhushan Kumar, who is producing Bhuj: The Pride of India, had earlier said in a statement, “This courageous tale needs to be told because we want the current and the coming generation to know about this brave soldier, Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who played a significant role in India’s victory in the 1971 war. He was heroic enough to take this bold step of involving civilians in a war. Also, who better than Ajay Devgn for the role of Vijay Karnik?”
