Akshay Kumar back to back flops –
First Bachchan Pandey, then Samrat Prithviraj and now Rakshabandhan. In the year 2022, three consecutive flop films one after the other have put Akshay Kumar in trouble. Whereas from August 2021 to this August, this is the fourth flop including Bell Bottom. In between, only his multistarrer Suryavanshi had run. The way the audience’s test of Hindi cinema has changed and the campaign of Boycott of Bollywood has gone on, it has surprised all the actors and directors. Akshay himself did not believe that this could happen to his Raksha Bandhan. He threw himself into the promotion of this film and traveled from city to city. Even after that, the result was that his new film, which was released on Thursday on the festival of Raksha Bandhan, could earn only Rs 35 crore 15 lakh till this Tuesday.
Surprisingly, this year Akshay’s flop was worse than Bachchan Pandey and Samrat Prithviraj.
No matter how bad the box office situation is at the moment, there is every chance for Akshay Kumar to return in the coming months of this year and in 2023. Especially there are two films, which are directly related to Indian culture and religion. If these films turn out to be good and the audience likes its content, then surely Akshay will again stand with the old strength. These movies are Ram Setu and O My God 2.
Ram Setu is an action-adventure drama, in which Akshay plays the role of an archaeologist who searches for the Ram Setu mentioned in the Ramayana. The film is releasing on October 24 on the occasion of Diwali. Whereas after Lord Rama, Akshay will get the support of Lord Shiva in O My God 2. He is playing the role of Lord Shiva in the film. He became Lord Krishna in the 2012 comedy-drama O My God. The film is likely to release in 2023 on the occasion of Mahashiv Ratri. It also stars Yami Gautam along with Pankaj Tripathi.
