Akshay Kumar, also known as Khiladi Kumar, is one of the popular Bollywood actors. He released his film OMG 2 on 11 August and it received positive reactions from the audience amid controversies. Before OMG 2, his films weren’t doing well at the box office and he faced trolling for that. Some trollers call him ‘Canadian Kumar’ as he has the Canadian citizenship since the 90s. However, the actor removed this tag from him and got Indian citizenship on Independence Day after so many years and he announced it on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Akshay Kumar gets Indian Citizenship on Independence Day
Akshay shared a picture of the citizenship documents on his X account with the caption, “Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani. Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind!”
Akshay was previously trolled for having a canadian citizenship. Online users troll the actor for this reason and they gave him the tag of ‘Canadian Kumar.’ Akshay Kumar spoke about this several times when he applied for Indian citizenship and he finally got it on Independence Day. Fans are happy to know that Akshay has finally got Indian citizenship and they are trolling the haters of the actor.
Why Akshay Kumar is called Canadian Kumar?
During his early days in the Indian cinema, Akshay Kumar’s film was not doing well and his friend advised him to come to Canada and get Canadian citizenship. He took Canadian citizenship and got ready to go to Canada but suddenly his last two films did well and he stayed in India as he got several films after that. Ever since then, Akshay Kumar is living in India with a Canadian passport and online users troll him and call him ‘Canadian Kumar’ for having Canadian citizenship.
