Akshay Kumar: The actor will make his Marathi debut in the film Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. The statement was made at the periodic drama’s muhurat ceremony on Wednesday in Mumbai. Mahesh Manjrekar was dressed traditionally, while Akshay Kumar looked dashing in a white shirt and black pants. Maharashtra President Minister Eknath Shinde and MNS chief Raj Thackeray also attended the occasion. According to a PTI report, the actor will play Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the film.
Akshay Kumar to Play Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Marathi Debut Film
Akshay Kumar is all set to make his Marathi debut in Mahesh Manjrekar’s forthcoming Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat. Akshay Kumar will play Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the film. On Tuesday, Maharashtra President Minister Eknath Shinde and MNS chief Raj Thackeray attended a mahurat shooting event for the film in Mumbai. Salman Khan attended the launch event to offer his support for his pal. Mahesh Manjrekar called the film his dream project for which he has been working for past 7 years as it needed a lot of research.
What Akshay Said
The actor called the project a dream role, acknowledging it’s a big responsibilty. “It is a huge deal for me to play the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. To play the role of such a legendary personality is a huge responsibility. I am so happy about this. It is dream come true kind of a role. It is a huge task and I would like to say I will give my best,” he said.
Mahehs Manjrekar Opens up About the Film
During the event, Mahesh Manjeraker revealed that it was his wish to work with Akshay Kumar. “It was my wish to work with Akshay. And for this role I couldn’t see any other actor but him. We wanted a certain personality and look and Akshay had the apt image to play a Hindu raja,” PTI quoted the director saying.
About Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat
Vaseem Qureshi’s Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat is set to be released in theatres on Diwali 2023. The film will be available in four regional languages: Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
