Post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt have been constantly getting trolled as a section of netizens believe that they are linked to either Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case or him receiving a cold treatment in the film industry.
Their upcoming film Sadak 2, has also been facing the brunt of it, so much so that when the film’s trailer released, it went on to become one of the most disliked video ever on YouTube.
In an interview to Bollywoodlife, filmmaker Prakash Jha said that hating on a film and calling for its boycott is sad and unfair. “Mahesh Bhatt saab is a a very talented director who has made many great films. Alia Bhatt, too, is a gifted actor”, he said.
Opening up on why a great actress and director are being targeted WITHOUT any proof, Prakash Jha said, “I’m not on social media much, honestly. I’ve heard about this dislike and I don’t know what sort of message it sends, but it’s unfortunate. I also think it’s probably the product of this depressing pandemic time when people are getting the opportunity to vent their feelings in abnormal ways.
He also highlighted about the struggles in Bollywood. He reportedly said there could have been a case that Sushant was pushed around but added that, in the film industry, the struggle is a constant factor, but when success comes, one shines.
Prakash’s digital debut series, Aashram, will premiere on August 28 on MX Player. The trailer of the series was unveiled earlier this month and shows Bobby Deol as Baba Nirala of Kashipur. The series also features Chandan Roy Sanyal, Aaditi Pohankar, Darshan Kumaar, and Adhyayan Suman in pivotal roles.
Late Monday evening, hashtag #ReleaseArijitSongFromSadak2 was trending in India on Twitter. Fans of Arijit, came out in support of the singer demanding the release of two songs reportedly sung by him in the upcoming film Sadak 2. Music composer and singer Amaal Malik has also lent his support on Twitter for the same.
Responding to a tweet, Amaal wrote: “I think the song deserves to atleast get a release! Constantly hurting the fans will lead to nothing but just more disbelief in the music industry. Atleast put out the version if you can. #ReleaseArijitSongFromSadak2 (sic).”
