Alka Yagnik and her army is slightly more powerful than BTS ARMY because the singer was the most globally streamed artist on YouTube last year. According to Guinness World Records, Alka Yagnik had 15.3 billion YouTube streams in 2022, with an average of 42 million each day. She is presently rated first in YouTube’s global rankings for 2022, ahead of Bad Bunny (Puerto Rico), who received 14.7 billion streams and is ranked second.

Guinness World Records also revealed that Yagnik has been the most streamed musician on the platform for the past three years, with 17.7 billion streams in 2021 and 16.6 billion in 2020. Udit Narayan (10.8 billion), Arijit Singh (10.7 billion), and Kumar Sanu (9.09 billion) rounded out the top five. India had 12.3 billion streams, accounting for over 80% of Yagnik’s 2022 total, and she was also the most-listened-to singer in Pakistan, with 683 million streams.
K-Pop giants BTS and Blackpink dominated the Top 10 with 7.95 billion and 7.03 billion streams, respectively, while other well-known acts such as Taylor Swift (4.33 billion) gained 26th place, Drake (2.9 billion) was 50th, and The Weeknd (5.7 billion) was 13th.
Her Career
Alka Yagnik is one of India’s most well-known and renowned singers, with numerous song credits to her name. She has recorded over 20,000 songs for albums and films during her four-decade career. She has also received 38 nominations for her song Mere Angne Mein from the 1981 film Laawaris, for which she won several accolades.
