A new release date has been announced for Pushpa 2: The Rule, the much awaited movie starring Allu Arjun! The movie’s release date was originally scheduled for August 15, 2024, however it has now been moved to December 6, 2024. This update was released by the filmmakers along with a thorough statement outlining their reasoning.
Reasons for the Postponement
The main reasons for the delay, according to the production team, were the requirement to finish the remaining shot and the heavy post-production work. They underlined how dedicated they are to provide a top-notch cinematic experience. The creators of Pushpa: The Rise are committed to living up to the high standards set by the film’s enormous popularity.
The note from the production team read: “Pushpa 2: The Rule is one of the most anticipated Indian films. Following the immense success of Pushpa: The Rise, our responsibility to deliver excellence has increased significantly. We have been tirelessly working to complete the movie and release it on time. However, due to the remaining shoot and subsequent post-production work, we will not be releasing the film on August 15th, 2024. This decision is made in the best interests of the film, the audience, and all stakeholders. Our goal is to provide a memorable experience on the big screen without compromising quality.”
Audience and Industry Support
The note also mentioned how positively the teasers and songs from the movie have been received in every language, which has been tremendously motivating for the team. They conveyed their appreciation to the public, sponsors, press, and the film industry for their steadfast support.
“The overwhelming response to our teasers and songs across all languages has been heartening, and we promise to deliver a film that you will truly love. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the audiences and our partners worldwide for their unwavering support. The media and film industries have also been incredibly supportive. Pushpa 2: The Rule will now be released worldwide on December 6th, 2024. We are committed to giving you the best, and you will see only the best in cinemas,” the note added.
New Poster Release
The filmmakers also released a brand-new poster, which features Allu Arjun in the role of Pushpa. Allu Arjun appears on the poster as a ferocious avatar with a sword in his hand. Allu Arjun posted the poster to his X handle with the caption, “#Pushpa2TheRule in cinemas from December 6th, 2024.”

Pushpa 2: The Rule is directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The film stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Fasil in lead roles.
