A few days ago, Amitabh Bachchan posted a video on Instagram, where he took a pledge to avoid littering. In the video, he proudly stated, “Mi kachra karnaar nahi”—which translates to “I will not litter” in Marathi. While the message received widespread praise and millions of likes, it turned out that the pronunciation of the Marathi word ‘kachra’ was incorrect. Despite the overwhelming support from fans, Amitabh noticed the mistake and was quick to acknowledge it.
Sudesh Bhosale Points Out the Pronunciation Mistake
It was veteran playback singer Sudesh Bhosale who kindly brought the mispronunciation to Big B’s attention. Amitabh, known for his attention to detail and dedication, didn’t take long to correct himself. On Thursday, he posted another video on Instagram, once again taking the cleanliness pledge but this time with the correct pronunciation of the Marathi word.
In the video, Amitabh said, “Recently, I had made a video where I said ‘Main kachra nahi karunga’. I also said the same in Marathi, but my pronunciation of the word ‘kachra’ was wrong. My friend Sudesh Bhosale informed me about it. I’ve learned the correct pronunciation, and now I’m doing it again in this video.”
Apology Accepted, Fans Praise Big B’s Humility
Along with the video, Amitabh Bachchan added a heartfelt caption: “Had done a video where pronunciation was wrong… so corrected it… Apologies.” This gesture further cemented his connection with his fans, who admired his humility in admitting the mistake and making amends so quickly.
