Animal vs Sam Bahadur Box Office Collection Day 1: Yesterday will go down as a monumental day in the history of Bollywood as two superstars collided with their potential blockbusters. On the one hand, Ranbir Kapoor unleashed the Animal, on the other hand, Vicky Kaushal brought it back to life Sam Bahadur. Both films received a lot of love from the fans. However, only the stats can tell which one did better at the Box Office on the opening day.
How did Animal and Sam Bahadur perform at the Box Office in terms of collection on Day 1?
December 1st, 2023 opened with a bang as Animal and Sam Bahadur made their way to the theatres. Let’s talk about Ranbir Kapoor’s high-octane action-thriller first. Animal received tremendous love from the fans and it also became Ranbir Kapoor’s biggest opener ever. On the opening day, it collected a whooping Rs. 61 crores at the Box Office in India. It was able to break the record of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan however, it couldn’t break Jawan’s record which collected Rs. 65 crores in India. According to Ramesh Bala, Animal collected Rs. 110 – 115 crores worldwide on Day 1.
On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur suffered a major blow in the face-off with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. It opened to only Rs. 5.50 crores at the Indian Box Office which is much lower than Animal’s 61 crore mark. The Hindi version of the film had 29.18% occupancy overall. Apparently, the war biopic of Indo-Pakistan war hero Sam Manekshaw had an unfortunate clash with the super active and thrilling character of Ranbir.
How will the films fare further?
While it is easy to conclude who the clear winner is here, things can turn out in favor of Vicky Kaushal as we progress further. The reason is, that we can clearly see that the audience is particularly drawn toward the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. This can act like boiling water. The moment you simmer down the heat immediately the bubbling water comes down. Similarly, although the tide seems to be in favor of Animal currently, it can shift toward Sam Bahadur too. Moreover, may the better film win.
