Director Anurag Kashyap, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by actor Payal Ghosh, on Monday once again denied the allegations against him and said he intends to pursue “remedies in law” to the “fullest extent”.
Anurag Kashyap also said it was sad that a movement as important as the #MeToo one had been co-opted by vested interests and reduced to a “mere tool for character assassination” issuing a statement through his lawyer.
On September 19, the Payal Ghosh accused Anurag Kashyap in a tweet that he had forcefully made the actress to drunk alcohol. These allegations of Payal Ghosh were rejected by Anurag Kashyap , #MeToo on Anurag Kashyap.
Meanwhile, many actresses including Taapsee Pannu, Radhika Apte, came to her rescue after the matter came to light. Earlier Anurag Kashyap’s first wife Aarti Bajaj supported him and now his second wife and Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin has also openly supported him.
Kalki has shared a post in which he wrote – ‘Dear Anurag, don’t let this social media circus dominate you. You have always fought for the freedom of women in the scripts of your film. You have protected his honor in personal and professional life. I am witness to this, because you always gave me equal place in personal and professional life. You protected my honor even after divorce. keep me company.’
