PM Modi France Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his historic visit to France on a high note. In a remarkable display of his global popularity, PM Modi received a warm welcome in France as he attended the country’s National Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour. President Emmanuel Macron organised a banquet dinner in PM Modi’s honour on July 14, the French National Day. He was treated to a specially curated all-vegetarian meal. During PM Modi’s visit to the grand banquet, the Oscar-winning song ‘Jai Ho’ composed by music maestro AR Rahman from ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ was played twice.

India’s Oscar-winning song ‘Jai Ho’ was played during the grand Banquet dinner which was organised in honour of PM Modi. The upbeat Indo-Hispanic anthem bagged an Oscar for ‘Best Original Song’. It also won in the category of ‘Best Song Written for a Motion Picture’ at the 52nd Grammy Awards.
PM Modi lauds Indo-Russian friendship
PM Modi, in his address at the banquet dinner, said in the last 25 years, the world has faced many ups and down but the friendship between India and France has continued to grow deeper. “In the past 25 years, the world faced many ups and downs and challenging times, but the friendship between France and India continued to grow deeper. We have made a long and important journey on the basis of Mutual understanding, trust and respect. Due to the personal efforts of President Macron, our ties are moving forward in every direction,” he said.
“We have prepared a roadmap for the next 25 years. We are contributing not only to welfare of both countries but also to world peace and security. Our partnership is a force for global food,” PM Modi added.
