Athiya Shetty: Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty shared pictures from her haldi ceremony that was nothing short of a magical celebration. Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul tied the knot on December 23 at the Khandala bungalow of her father, Suniel Shetty. They couple have shared photos from the wedding and other rituals one by one.
The Khandala venue transformed into a marigold paradise for the haldi festivities. A carnival of yellow hues can be seen everywhere in the interior photos from their haldi event that have surfaced online.
Athiya’s haldi look
For the haldi, Athiya chose an ivory vintage anarkali suit by Ritu Kumar. Check out all her glam pics below. Her pink handmade lehenga that she donned on her wedding, was designed by Anamika Khanna.
Athiya wore a gorgeous ivory-hued cotton anarkali suit with gotta patti work from Ritu Kumar. Her look was styled by Ami Patel. She teamed the suit with gharara skirt. The vintage RK ensemble in that old chai dipped cotton fabric and the antique gold work took 2000 hours to embroider. It featured heavy gota embroidery over the neck and borders giving the outfit a royal look.
Took 2000 hours to make
The outfit was nothing less than a piece of art as it took nearly 2000 man hours to make and was done by using the age-old technique of crumpling and folding the Gota by hand to create the mango motifs. Her embroidery was done with Gokhru gota, which are ribbons with metal strip wefts and fibre warps pinched at regular intervals. It enhances the aesthetics of the ensemble.
Athiya went for “less is more” trend and styled her haldi look with a touch of old-world elegance. With help from make-up artist Simran Gidwani, Athiya wore blush pink eyeshadow, kept lips nude pink and eyelids lined with kohl. Assisted by hairstylist Reena Dutta, Athiya kept her hair open in a half updo hairstyle and adorned it with jasmine flowers.
Athiya kept accessories simple -mangtika, statement earrings and golden jutis made her look regal.
