Bheed trailer: Upcoming film Bheed is based on the torrid times during the Covid-19 pandemic. The trailer of the film unveiled by T-Series gave a glimpse into the dark times that the world underwent during lockdown.
They posted a video on their YouTube channel on Friday. The trailer highlighted the effects of the first lockdown in 2020 on migrant workers.
Lockdown is announced
The trailer shows hundreds of migrant workers gathering to leave for their home after prime minister Narendra Modi announced lockdown. They are beaten up and are disinfected with sprays as they sit on the roadside.
Rajkummar Rao plays a cop in the film. He says, “Justice is always in the hands of the powerful. If the powerless served justice, justice would be different.” He can feel people’s misery and fights for them. In the video Dia Mirza cries talking to a child over the phone. Bhumi Pednekar is a doctor who sympathises with Rajkummar and wants to bring about a change just like him.
Kritika Kamra is a journalist who compares the Covid-19 lockdown situation to that of the Partition in 1947. On the other side, Pankaj Kapur will not let kids in his bus eat food given by Muslims. He is scared that infection is spreading after Tablighi Jamat.
‘Want to be a hero’
The trailer ends with Ashutosh Rana slapping Rajkummar while asking ‘do you want to be a hero?’ An emotional Rajkummar replies, “Why not sir? I want to be a hero too. How long must I serve them?”
The Anubhav Sinha film releases in cinemas on March 24. It is shot extensively in Lucknow.Jointly produced by Anubhav Sinha and Bhushan Kumar, Bheed also features Virendra Saxena, Aditya Shrivastav, and Karan Pandit.
