Box Office Collection: The Indian box office witnessed a clash of titans as ‘Dream Girl 2’ and ‘Gadar 2‘ battled it out for supremacy. Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday’s comedic chemistry in ‘Dream Girl 2’ went head-to-head with the nostalgia-inducing power of Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’, and the results are in.
‘Dream Girl 2’ Opening Day Triumph
Following the triumph of ‘Dream Girl’ in 2019, director Raaj Shaandilyaa orchestrated a triumphant return with ‘Dream Girl 2‘. The sequel, starring Ayushmann Khurrana as Pooja/Karam and Ananya Panday as Pari, hit the theaters on August 25 with a bang. The film secured an impressive opening day collection of approximately Rs 9.70 crore nett in India.
The three major national chains in India – PVR, Cinepolis, and INOX – emerged as the catalysts for ‘Dream Girl 2‘s’ successful Day 1 collection. These chains collectively contributed around Rs 5.35 crore nett to the film’s impressive earnings, accounting for nearly 60 per cent of the total opening day collection.
‘Gadar 2’s’ Day 1 Earnings
Sacnilk.com reports that ‘Gadar 2‘ maintained its steady stride, having graced the theaters on August 11, the movie started strong by raking in a substantial ₹40.10 crore on its first day, setting the stage for its ongoing success.
About ‘Dream Girl 2’
‘Dream Girl 2’ is a rollercoaster ride through the life of a small-town boy named Karam (portrayed by Ayushmann Khurrana), whose aspirations for a serious life in Mathura are constantly thwarted by fate. His affection for Pari (played by Ananya Panday) leads to unexpected turns, culminating in Karam transforming into Pooja. This bewildering twist spirals his life further into delightful chaos.
