Anil Arora, the father of Bollywood actress and model Malaika Arora, tragically died on Wednesday morning in Bandra, Mumbai, after jumping from a residential building, according to reports. The event happened at their family’s Bandra West residence, Ayesha Manor, at around 10:30 in the morning. Although there have been allegations of suicide, family-friendly have suggested it may have been an accident, according to media reports.
Family and Friends Gather Amid Investigation
Malaika’s ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan, along with senior police officers, was seen at her residence following the shocking news. According to ANI, the police are still investigating the situation, with their official tweet stating, “Father of actress-model Malaika Arora died by suicide by jumping off a terrace. Police team is present at the spot: Mumbai Police.” However, a source speaking to PTI refuted the suicide claim, stating that it was an accidental fall.
Malaika Arora’s Family History and Personal Struggles
Malaika went to Chembur with her mother Joyce Polycarp and sister Amrita Arora after her parents divorced when she was just 11 years old. Anil Arora, her father, was a Fazilka-born Punjabi Hindu who served in the Indian Merchant Navy. Malaika once said about how her parents’ divorce taught her to cherish her mother’s fortitude and how hard work and independence were lessons she learnt from her.
Amrita Arora, her sister, is married to businessman Shakeel Ladak; the couple has two sons together. Malaika and Arbaaz Khan, who were wed for 19 years, divorced formally in 2017 after separating in 2016. Arhaan, the ex-couple’s kid, was born in 2002. While Malaika was supposedly in a relationship with actor Arjun Kapoor till it was revealed recently that they had broken up, Arbaaz is currently married to makeup artist Sshura Khan.
Probe Continues as Family Awaits Answers
Malaika’s family and close friends are still in disbelief while the investigation goes on because Anil Arora was supposedly in good condition. Hopefully, the ongoing police investigation and the upcoming post-mortem report will shed light on this tragic death.
