Sharvari Wagh, daughter of architect Namrata Wagh and builder Shailesh Wagh, has acting in her blood. Manohar Joshi, her maternal grandpa, served as the previous Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Debut in “The Forgotten Army”
In the Amazon Prime Video series The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye, Sharvari made her OTT debut with Vicky Kaushal’s brother Sunny Kaushal. The series, which debuted in 2020, was directed by Kabir Khan, who is well-known for successes like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ek Tha Tiger. Though neither Sharvari nor Sunny have acknowledged their connection, rumours have connected them romantically.
Big Screen Entry with “Bunty Aur Babli 2”
Sharvari debuted on the big screen in Bunty Aur Babli 2, the follow-up to the popular 2005 film, in 2021. She starred with Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Regretfully, the movie was poorly regarded by critics and did not fare well at the box office.

Sharvari’s most recent movie, Munjya, which was released on June 7, 2024, has taken the world by surprise after a three-year hiatus. The horror comedy’s box office success impressed trade observers, earning Rs 24 crore in its first four days of release.

Sharvari’s popularity is evident as she was ranked 20th on IMDb’s weekly list of top 100 popular Indian celebrities for June 10-16, 2024. She ranked higher than big names like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Ranbir Kapoor.
Upcoming Projects
Maharaj, Sharvari’s upcoming release, will debut on Netflix on June 14. The film, which is inspired on the contentious 1862 Maharaj Libel Case, stars Junaid Khan, the son of Aamir Khan. After that, she will co-star with John Abraham in the action thriller Vedaa, in which she plays the lead role. On August 15, Vedaa and Pushpa 2 are scheduled to compete at the box office. In addition, Sharvari will shortly start filming a YRF Spy Universe movie with Alia Bhatt.
