Shweta Tiwari, a household name in India thanks to her iconic role as Prerna Sharma in Kasautii Zindagi Kay, has a career as captivating as her on-screen presence. But her journey to success wasn’t all smooth sailing. Despite facing personal struggles, Shweta’s dedication to her craft and her resilience have earned her immense respect and love from fans.
Early Career and Bhojpuri Stint
While Kasautii Zindagii Kay introduced Shweta to the national audience, her foray into the entertainment world began much earlier. Many might not know that Shweta started facing the camera at a tender age of 12. Before captivating Hindi television audiences, she was a popular figure in the Bhojpuri film industry.
Love, Marriage and Heartbreak
While working in Bhojpuri cinema, Shweta’s life took a turn when she met Raja Chaudhary. Their relationship blossomed from friendship to love and Shweta at the age of 18 decided to follow her heart and marry Raja, even against her family’s wishes. Soon after they welcomed their daughter Palak Tiwari into the world. However, their marital bliss turned sour, and after nine years of marriage, they divorced. Shweta accused Raja of domestic violence during their relationship.
Single Motherhood and Second Marriage
Shweta, a single mother now, raised Palak with immense strength. Years later, in 2012, Abhinav Kohli entered her life, and after dating for a while, they tied the knot in 2013. The couple had a son together. Unfortunately, this marriage too couldn’t withstand the test of time, and Shweta filed for divorce in 2019, alleging harassment by Abhinav towards her and her daughter.
A Career Redefined
Despite the personal challenges, Shweta has never let her passion for acting diminish. Now, a single mother of two, she’s actively building a career in the OTT (Over-the-top) platform world. Her recent role in Rohit Shetty’s web series “Indian Police Force” on Amazon Prime Video, alongside Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, and Shilpa Shetty Kundra, showcases her talent and determination.
