It’s challenging for outsiders to establish a name for themselves in the glitzy realm of Bollywood. But one actor in particular turned the odds, emerging from financial hardships to rank among the highest-paid celebrities in the business. This is the motivational story of Kartik Aaryan, who reportedly commands Rs 40 crore per film.
The Early Struggles and Dreams
Kartik Aaryan, originally Gwalior, attended D.Y. Patil College of Engineering in Navi Mumbai to study biotechnology engineering. Even though he was concentrating on his studies, he had a hidden passion for acting. He frequently missed lessons in order to travel two hours to auditions. After three years of unsuccessful attempts to break into the film industry, he started his modelling career while still a student and enrolled in an acting class at Kreating Charakters Institute.
The Breakthrough Moment
Kartik was in his third year when he saw a casting call on Facebook. He eventually secured a part in Luv Ranjan’s “Pyaar Ka Punchnama” in 2011 after six months of constant auditioning. His movie monologue was an immediate hit.
Rising to Stardom
Kartik played the lead role in “Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2,” a 2015 sequel, when his seven-minute monologue stunned viewers. He shot to fame with this movie. He added another hit, “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety,” to his portfolio after this triumph, and went on to deliver hit movies like “Luka Chuppi” and “Pati Patni Aur Woh.”
Overcoming Setbacks
Even with his growing fame, Kartik had difficulties. He was apparently removed from “Dostana 2” in 2021 because of creative disputes. Nevertheless, he recovered with a magnificent performance in “Dhamaka.” He strengthened his appeal at the box office in 2022 with the horror-comedy blockbuster “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.” Reviews for his most recent movie, “Chandu Champion,” which is directed by Kabir Singh, have also been favourable.
Reflecting on His Journey
In an interview with Raj Shamani, Kartik recalled his difficult upbringing, saying, “We were in debt when we were growing up in Gwalior. For their careers, my parents had taken out debts. While not poor, we also weren’t wealthy. We were members of EMI. We had more debt than income for a very long period.
Kartik Aaryan is currently among the highest-paid actors in Bollywood. He reportedly charges Rs 40 crore for each film. But he lowered his pay to Rs 25 crore for “Chandu Champion,” in which he plays Murlikant Petkar.
