The adored celebrity couple, Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya, have been celebrating their eighth wedding anniversary by posting amazing pictures and videos from their trip around Europe. However, when they were robbed while visiting Florence, Italy, their happiness turned into a nightmare. The couple lost everything they owned, including their wallets, passports, and all of their purchases, which totaled about ₹10 lakhs.
The Incident
Divyanka Tripathi took to Instagram to share the news on her story, writing, “The car was parked in a secured resort property when the break-in happened. Please do not trouble us suggesting how the case should have been taken. The resort knew about the ‘luggage in car’ status and they were cool about it. This can happen to anyone…. But I hope it doesn’t! Be of help if you can, or empathize. If that’s seemingly difficult… Please go ahead doing your business.”
In an interview with Times of India, Vivek Dahiya revealed the unfortunate event. They had just arrived in Florence and were excited to explore the city. They parked their car outside a property they were interested in staying at and left their belongings inside. When they returned, they were devastated to find the car had been broken into and their valuables stolen.
“Everything about this trip has been incredible, except for this incident. We arrived in Florence yesterday and planned to stay for a day. We went to check out a property we liked for our stay and left all our belongings in a car parked outside. However, when we returned to get our stuff, we were shocked to find that the car had been broken into, and our passports, wallets, money, shopping, and all our valuable items were gone. Fortunately, they left behind some old clothes and food items,” Vivek said.
Struggling for Assistance
The couple reached out to the local police for help, but their efforts were in vain. The police dismissed their case due to the lack of CCTV cameras in the area where the theft occurred. Desperate for assistance, they also tried contacting the embassy, but it was already closed for the day.
Stuck Without Cash
Currently, Divyanka and Vivek are staying in a small town near Florence. The hotel staff has been supportive, but the couple is in urgent need of cash and temporary passports to return to India.
“We require temporary passports and substantial help from the embassy to get back to India, as we have nothing with us,” Vivek added.
Fans hope that the pair receives the required assistance quickly and may return home safely, since this sad occurrence has ruined their romantic holiday intended to celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary.
