Indian cricket fans have long known of passion of Shah Rukh Khan for the sport, but a recent revelation by Cheteshwar Pujara’s father has highlighted the Bollywood star’s generosity and concern for players’ well-being. According to Arvind Pujara, his son suffered a serious injury in South Africa during a match in 2009, and Shah Rukh Khan, who was filming in the country at the time, offered to fly a doctor and any number of the Pujara family to South Africa to help with his recovery.
Cheteshwar Pujara is a well-known Indian cricketer who has represented the country in various international matches. In 2009, he was playing in South Africa when he suffered a serious hamstring injury. The injury was severe enough to require surgery, and Pujara had to be flown back to India for treatment.
Shah Rukh Khan insisted that Pujara should stay in South Africa
While Pujara was recovering in SA, his father received a call from Shah Rukh Khan, who was in South Africa at the time filming for a movie. According to Arvind Pujara, Shah Rukh Khan offered to fly a doctor and any number of the Pujara family to South Africa to help with his son’s recovery. The actor also expressed his concern for the injured player’s well-being and wished him a speedy recovery.

Arvind Pujara has expressed his gratitude for Shah Rukh Khan’s kind gesture and concern for his son’s well-being. Pujara’s father wrote in a statement, “Shah Rukh concurred that Chintu should receive the best medical care possible because he had a bright future ahead of him. He offered to fly Dr. Shah and as many of his family members as necessary to South Africa to persuade us. I begged Dr. Shah to travel alone because I didn’t have a passport. He insisted that I go on the trip with him though. I completed the necessary documentation in a flash and boarded the plane for South Africa.”
