In a recent statement at the Times Now Summit, Bollywood actress and BJP leader Kangana Ranaut reaffirmed her stance on her comment referring to fellow actor Urmila Matondkar as a ‘soft porn star’. Ranaut, who is contesting in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency for the BJP, emphasized that terms like “porn star” and “soft porn” should not inherently be considered objectionable.
Kangana Ranaut Stands Firm
Ranaut defended her remark, stating that she did not intend to shame Matondkar, as the latter seemed comfortable with roles of that nature. She pointed out that if actresses are at ease with terms like “tandoori murgi” or “item girl,” why should there be a double standard?
Clarification of Intent
The ‘Queen’ actor highlighted her own career choices, noting that she has never performed in item numbers. She explained that her comment stemmed from a comparison of their respective filmographies and political affiliations.
Kangana’s Perspective
Kangana Ranaut elaborated on her belief that terms like “soft porn” or “porn star” should not be inherently offensive. She cited the example of Sunny Leone, suggesting that porn stars receive more respect in India than elsewhere in the world.
