Creative Arts Emmys 2022: Chadwick Boseman honoured posthumously for What If…?

Creative Arts Emmys 2022: At the opening of the two-night Creative Arts Emmys ceremony on Saturday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, The Beatles: Get Back and Adele: One Night Only each received five awards.

Peter Jackson won two Emmys for directing and producing an outstanding documentary, The Beatles: Get Back. Jackson, who has won three Oscars for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and is now halfway to the EGOT, exclaimed, “Shout out to the Beatles.”

Chadwick Boseman received a posthumous Emmy for his voice performance as T’Challa in Disney+ series What If…? Boseman’s wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted, saying, “What a beautifully aligned moment it really is that one of the last things he would work on would not only be revisiting a character that was so important to him and his career and to the world, but also that it be an exploration of something new, diving into a new potential future.”
