Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival awards: Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt win top honour, Rekha honoured for ‘outstanding contribution’

Dadasaheb Phalke Awards took place in Mumbai Monday night.

The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival awards were held on Monday night with A-listers attending the prestigious event. Alia Bhatt, Rekha, Varun Dhawan and Anupam Kher were among other A-listers who graced the event. Kannada actor Rishab Shetty who has been earning widespread praises for Kantara was also seen arriving at the event. From the TV industry, Tejasswi Prakash, Rashmai Desai and Abdu Rozik were among others who turned up for the event.

Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt win big at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival

Ranbir Kapoor won ‘Best Actor (Male)’ for Ayan Mukerji directorial Brahasmtra, while Alia Bhatt bagged the “Best Actor (Female) honour for her film Gangubai Kathiawadi by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. 

Actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty was honoured with the ‘Most Promising Actor’ award for Kantara. Varun Dhawan was names as chosen was awarded with the ‘Critics Best Actor’ honour for his film Bhediya. Meanwhile, Rupali Ganguly starrer Anupamaa won the Television Series of The Year award at the prestigious film festival. ‘Outstanding Contribution In The Film Industry’ was awarded to veteran actor Rekha.
