Dahan Trailer: Myths and horror can be a lethal combination, and Disney+ Hotstar’s latest thriller Dahan – Raakan ka Rahasya is set to follow suit. The trailer for the Tisca Chopra and Saurabh Shukla starrer, which was released on Tuesday, has piqued the interest of audiences. The nine-episode series, directed by Vikranth Pawar, will usher in a horror future with a mining expedition beginning in the village.

The trailer begins with a bloody event as someone attempts to enter the depths of a cave. Cut to the present, where an IAS officer (Tisca Chopra) is tasked with starting a mining operation that will lead her to the same ‘cursed mine.’ Despite warnings from villagers and godmen, she goes ahead, opening a Pandora’s box of horrifying events around her. The mystery killings and disappearances add to her woes as she battles age-old superstition. The nine-part series, shot in Rajasthan, will tell the story of cursed caves, hidden treasures, and generational secrets.
Tisca Chopra commented on her latest project, saying she loved how Dahan seized raw fear as each character faced their own demons. “My character Avani Raut fights personal and professional battles when she is caught in the crossfire of superstition and the supernatural, and practicality on the other. The show puts her on a quest by drawing parallels between her external and internal fears, which all of us confront,” she explained in a statement.

According to Saurabh Shukla, Dahan as a show meticulously weaves together a tale of myths, legends, and superstitions. “Playing Pramukh puts me in the eye of the strong beliefs surrounding the village and its residents. One element that makes this character stand out is that he fears what he worships, but is too scared to break the chain,” he explained.

According to director Vikranth Pawar, they set out to create a show in which the audience experiences how mythical and supernatural elements can combine to create fear in people’s minds.
Nisarg Mehta, Shiva Bajpai, and Nikhil Nair wrote Dahan, which is produced by Banijay Asia, Deepak Dhar, and Rishi Negi. It will be available on Disney+ Hotstar beginning September 16.
