Sanjay Gadhvi passed away recently at his Mumbai residence. The filmmaker was popularly known for Dhoom, Dhoom 2, and other Bollywood films. The news just came in through PTI where his daughter revealed that Sanjay was doing just fine. In fact, he was getting ready to celebrate his 57th birthday on November 22nd, however, destiny had other plans. The cause of death is still unknown, however, the family members suspect it was probably due to a heart attack.
Director Sanjay Gadhvi passes away at 56
While reporting to PTI, Gadhvi’s daughter Sanjina Gadhvi revealed that her father was perfectly healthy and was not suffering from any terminal or acute illness as such. She also revealed that the time of death was around 9:30 am and the incident took place in Gadhvi’s Mumbai residence. Although the family members do not know the cause of death yet, Sanjina reported that it was probably a heart attack. The unexpected passing of the director left the family in a state of shock as he was just about to turn 57 on 22nd November.
Sanjay left behind two daughters and his wife Gina. Several celebrities took to the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to express their condolences. Out of which his colleague Kunal Kohli wrote, “This is beyond shocking. #SanjayGadhvi RIP never thought I’d have to write your obituary. Shared an office for many years at YRF, lunch dubbas, discussions. Will miss you my friend. This is too hard to accept.”

Sanjay Gadhvi’s Filmography till date
On his work front, Sanjay kicked off his Bollywood journey with the film Tere Liye in the year 2000. From then onwards, he made his entry into Bollywood as a full-fledged director, making films under the banner of Yash Raj Films (YRF). Some of his popular projects are Dhoom and Dhoom 2 starred by Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, etc. Gadhvi also worked with Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan for the 2008 film Kidnap. His last project was Operation Parindey which was released in 2020.
