Since he began his career in 1994 with the release of the film Aatish, which starred Aditya Pancholi and Sanjay Dutt, Indian filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has been connected to the industry. He discussed his upcoming project, which features moments inspired by the action-drama film Animal, and offered his professional assessment of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s work in a chat.
Animal has similarities with the 2006 film Zinda
Mumbai Saga, Kaabil, Shootout at Wadala, and Kaante are just some of the well-known films that Sanjay Gupta has directed. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, the director defended Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s project Animal. Additionally, he said that certain scenes in the film bore a striking resemblance to his 2006 film Zinda, which starred John Abraham and Sanjay Dutt. He said, “There are sequences in Animal which we have shot in Zinda, almost 20 years ago in 2004. The exact same sequences, with the hammer and 30 people fighting.”
Sanjay about Javed Akhtar’s criticism
He also addressed Javed Akhtar’s remarks against the Sandeep Reddy Vanga-backed movie at that same chat. Gupta claims that the seasoned scriptwriter refuses to acknowledge how society has already evolved. “Our personalities have changed over the past ten years. There is a difference in our compassion. We’re not as patient as we once were. Consider how the media and we ourselves are being used as tools of manipulation. Sanjay stated, “I don’t think it is acceptable to blame the film for the society and vice versa since we will not go back to normal. Akhtar is still viewing the world through rose-tinted glasses.”
