It’s been more than two months for Sushant’s death and still, the investigations haven’t reached any conclusion. Sushant’s girl-friend Rhea Chakraborty is in the center of speculations for Sushant’s case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is still investigating and questioning people related to this case after the money laundering charges on Rhea Chakraborty which Sushant’s father filed in Bihar.
ED has called Rhea’s CA Ritesh Modi to extend their investigation. They will be asking Ritesh about Rhea Chakraborty’s trade, finance, income, and various expenses. Till now ED has questioned Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, his ex-business manager Shruti Modi, his sister Mitu Singh, roommate Siddharth Pithani and few other family members of Rhea Chakraborty
Last month Sushant Singh Rajput’s father filed an FIR against Rhea for grabbing Rs. 15 Crores from Sushant’s account. The investigation for that case is still going on.
Two properties belonging to Rhea Chakraborty and her family members are under the investigation. ED has taken command of the investigation. A source stated India Today that as per the Income Tax Return (ITR), Rhea’s net worth rose from 10 lakhs to 14 lakhs in the last few years.
Out of the two properties, one is in the Khar area of Mumbai, which she purchased for Rs 85 lakhs, and out of those 85 lakhs, she took a housing loan of 60 lakhs and the rest 25 lakhs came under the down payment category. Rhea bought this property in 2018.
The second property under the ED investigation belonged to Rhea’s father Indrajit Chakraborty, which they bought in 2012 for Rs 60 lakhs in Ulwe, Raigarh.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14. The Mumbai police reported it was a case of suicide but later on Bihar police came into the case after Sushant’s father filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty for money laundering and demanded CBI investigation. Rhea Chakraborty’s pleaded to transfer the case to Mumbai police from the Bihar police and the case is still ongoing in the Supreme Court.
