Elon Musk: The American sitcom “The Simpsons” has been credited with many accurate predictions over the course of its 700 episodes, including Donald Trump’s election as president of the United States, US Vice President Kamala Harris’ symbolic purple attire, and FIFA officials charged with wire fraud, racketeering, and money laundering. Is “The Simpsons” really able to predict the future and use it as material for humor, or is this just a coincidence?
Elon Musk shares ‘The Simpsons’ prediction
Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, tweeted on Sunday that The Simpsons had foreseen his takeover of the social media platform back in 2015. Elon published a still from the show’s season 26 episode 12 that aired in 2015. While Elon is not specifically mentioned in the still, he did appear in the episode and there was also a hint that he might be “changing a birdhouse.” Due to its name and bird-themed logo, Twitter is frequently mistakenly referred to as a bird app or birdhouse.
On Saturday, Elon posted a picture of Lisa Simspon feeding birds around a birdhouse with the words “Home tweet home” written on it. The image was shared on Twitter. Elon wrote, “Simpson’s predicts I buy Twitter S26E12,” next to it.

Elon Musk and The Simpsons connection
Elon Musk visits Springfield in the episode titled The Musk Who Fell to Earth (a play on the well-known 1963 novel The Man Who Fell to Earth), where he works with Homer Simpson to transform the city’s nuclear power plant. On January 25, 2015, it aired. The episode’s opening scene, when Elon first arrives in a spaceship in Springfield, is where the Twitter allusion was made. Homer attacks him as he introduces himself, but Lisa later informs him, “Dad, no! Possibly the best inventor currently alive is Elon Musk.”
The next scene depicts Elon converting Lisa’s birdhouse into a brand-new, cutting-edge structure that attracts a variety of birds. Elon hears Lisa say, “I guess humanity wants its change one birdhouse at a time.”
