Mumbai attacks: It is difficult to forget the dark night of November 26, 2008, when 10 men of a terrorist organization from Pakistan created mayhem in Mumbai with 12 coordinated shooting and bomb attacks. The terror lasted four days and a total of 175 people died including nine attackers. More than 300 were wounded and one terrorist AJMAL Kasab was caught alive.
The terrorists infiltrated key places like Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Taj hotel, Cama Hospital, Leopold Cafe, The Trident hotel and others. Even after 14 years, memories of the horrific terror attack continue to haunt Indians.

Several films have been made on Mumbai attacks and filmmakers have presented the story from different perspectives. Here are four films that recreated the mayham in Mumbai in those four days.
The Taj Mahal
Released in 2015, The Taj Mahal has filmed Mumbai attack most vividly. This French-Belgian thriller drama was screened at the 72nd edition of the Venice Film Festival. The story of the film makes explicit reference to the 2008 Mumbai attacks. It tells the story of a teenager, played by Stacy Martin, who is visiting Mumbai with her parents and staying at the Taj Hotel. She is trapped when the terrorists attack the hotel and her parents are out for dinner.
Directed by Nicholas Sada, the movie is available on YouTube and Netflix.
The Attacks of 26/11
This action thriller directed by Ram Gopal Varma, is based on the book Kasab: The Face of 26/11 by Rommel Rodrigues. Ajmal Kasab was one of the perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks. The film features Sanjeev Jaiswal in his debut role, playing the terrorist Ajmal Kasab. It also features Nana Patekar in a pivotal role.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed the film, uncut, with an ‘Adults Only’ certificate.

Major
Major is a 2022 Indian biographical action film directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka. Story and screenplay is by Adivi Sesh. Based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was martyred in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the film features Sesh as Unnikrishnan and co-stars Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Revathi, Murali Sharma, and Anish Kuruvilla.
Filmed simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages, Major follows the personal and professional life of Sandeep Unnikrishnan.
Mumbai Diaries
Mumbai Diariesx is one of the most engaging web series on Mumbai attacks. Created by Nikkhil Advani and Nikhil Gonsalves, it premiered on Amazon Prime Video. Mumbai Diaries 26/11 is a medical drama with its premise set in a government hospital in Mumbai. It shows how the medical fraternity dealt with the 26/11 crisis while themselves being under attack. A mix of fact and fiction, the series focused on the human side of the night of the most horrific terror act the city ever witnessed.
Hotel Mumbai (2018)
Hotel Mumbai is a 2018 action thriller film directed by Anthony Maras and co-written by Maras and John Collee. It is an Indian-Australian-American co-production that is inspired by the 2009 documentary Surviving Mumbai about the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
The film revolves around the hotel staff who risk everything to keep their guests safe.
The film has Dev Patel, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Anupam Kher, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Jason Isaacs, Suhail Nayyar, Nagesh Bhosle, and Natasha Liu Bordizzo in key roles.
