Gadar 2 fame Ameesha Patel reveals why ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’ missed its mark; Blames Salman Khan, check out the reason

Yeh Hai Jalwa

Ameesha Patel and Salman Khan: Ameesha Patel, the accomplished Bollywood actress, has recently shared her thoughts on the failure of her film “Yeh Hai Jalwa,” co-starring Salman Khan. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, she shed light on why she believes the film did not attain the success it deserved and how external factors influenced its fate.

A missed opportunity

During the interview, Ameesha Patel was asked to name a film of hers that she believes should have performed better. Without hesitation, she pointed to “Yeh Hai Jalwa.” The movie, directed by David Dhawan and featuring Salman Khan and herself, is remembered as one of the director’s finest works. Ameesha praised Salman’s exceptional looks in the film and commended its good music and overall quality.

However, Ameesha Patel speculated that a significant event occurring in the same year as the film’s release might have adversely impacted its reception. In 2002, the year “Yeh Hai Jalwa” hit theaters, Salman Khan faced legal troubles due to a hit-and-run case. After his car was involved in an accident that caused deaths and injuries, he was apprehended for driving recklessly. The controversy surrounding Salman Khan’s legal battle gained immense media attention, overshadowing the film’s potential.

An unfortunate outcome

Ameesha Patel expressed her belief that due to the media frenzy around Salman Khan’s case, audiences were not as receptive to any negative news involving their beloved actors. The negative attention surrounding Salman Khan’s legal issue diverted focus from “Yeh Hai Jalwa,” leading to its sidelining. She maintained that if the audience had been more open to the film, it could have performed exceptionally well.

In addition to discussing “Yeh Hai Jalwa,” Ameesha Patel shared insights about another film that didn’t get its fair share of attention. The film “Zameer,” starring Ajay Devgn and herself, was a remake of a national award-winning Tamil film. Unfortunately, the film’s producer passed away just as it was about to be released, impacting its reach and reception.
