Ghanshyam Nayak, who played Nattu Kaka in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) for years, has passed away. The veteran actor, who was battling illness and receiving chemotherapy, passed away today.
Ghanshyam took his last breath at Mumbai’s Suchak Hospital at around 5:30 pm on Sunday. Last year, the senior actor underwent surgery after eight knots were found in his neck.
Ghanshyam Nayak was extremely close to Dilip Joshi. In the show, he had his maximum scenes with Bagga (Tanmay Vekeria) and Dilip Joshi as they worked in Gada Electronics.
The sad news was shared on Twitter by Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumarr Modi. Many of his fans offered their condolence after the news was shared. He had gained immense popularity from his acting skills.
Asit Kumarr Modi took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “ॐ शान्ति #Natukaka@TMKOC_NTF.” The reason for his death is still not known. Fans are dropping comments. One of them wrote, “so manyyy memories with you nattu kaka…Aur apka vo dialogue “hain mujse kuch kaha kya ” vo to mera favrt tha..Pleading facewe will miss youuuuuuu…”Another wrote, “It’s a very sad reality that he gave his all his life to acting and gets limited to only small screen and the so called stars like jhanvi kapoor n ananya panday taking all stardom and flaunts at big screen.”
Tanmay Vekeria, who plays Bagga in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, told a leading daily, “I got the news first as his son called me at 5:45 pm. His condition failed to improve after his hospitalisation a few months back. He passed away today at 5:30 pm. He was a gem and was closest to me. He tried his best to work again with us but his health did not permit. I am very saddened that he is gone.”
Apart from TMKOC, Ghanshyam haD worked in several Gujarati films, Hindi movies and TV shows. Not only this, but had even been a part of 100 Gujrati stage plays. He also made an appearance in various Bollywood films including– . Masoom, Tirangaa, Aashik Awara, Aankhen, China Gate, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Tere Naam.
