Good Luck Jerry movie review: ‘Yaad Rakhiye- voh jitne Dikhte hain, Utni Hai Nahi’. And well this time Janhvi Kapoor has proved that she has grown as an actor. And how do we know that?
Well Good Luck Jerry, revolving around Janhvi’s character has finally Released and trust us, it looks quite appealing. The film, basically shows Janhvi in Two lights- one is the innocent Bihar girl and the other is the drug smuggler.
While Good Luck Jerry is the official remake of the Tamil film ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’ which featured Nayanthara in the lead.
The Plot
Good Luck Jerry is about Janhvi Kapoor, who lives with her mother and sister. While her mother sells momos and jerry (that is Janhvi) is a masseuse who is trying to earn good for her family. it is then, that things change after her mother is diagnosed with lung cancer. And she needs money. (A lot of it, for her treatment)
And to get that money, she meets a drug supplier who asks her to supply drugs in Punjab in return for good money. Later, because of her struggles, jerry takes up the job and enters the Gang! Where at a later stage, Jerry tries to give up on the profession but is somehow stopped by Sushant Singh who forced her to supply 100 kilos of drugs to a customer. So will she deliver that last order or get out of this mess? Well, Watch the Movie to find out!
Analysis
Well, Crime has a new face this Time!
This remake directed by Siddharth Sengupta and written by Pankaj Matta is kinda similar to Udta Punjab in some way. And is a mixture of emotions, drama and humor. And we can say that after a long time we get to see an impactful film with a pinch of humour. While the second half does get stretched and it is a bit inconsistent but then, a great fun as well!
Not to deny, Janhvi Kapoor definitely shines in this one but lacks a little spice. You can Watch Good Luck Jerry on Disney+ Hotstar.
