The American singer-songwriter Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, who goes by their stage name Halsey, has announced a split with their longtime partner, Alev Aydin. The two share a one-year-old son, Ender, and Halsey has applied for full custody of their son.
Halsey seeks full custody of their son
As per the court documents, the ‘Boy With Luv’ singer sought full physical custody of their son after splitting from partner Alev Aydin. However, the documents also suggest that Halsey, who used they/them pronouns, is seeking joint legal custody, joint expenses, and visitation right for their ex-boyfriend.
Halsey to take son on tour
Neither Halsey nor Aydin has addressed their split on social media but a source close to the ‘Without Me’ singer revealed that the pair are on good terms. The court documents are formal as Halsey wishes to take on their son on tour. “They just had to file that way,” the source said, adding, “it’s a formality so the singer can bring their son with them.”

Halsey and Alev first were first linked to each other in January 2021. The two grew closer during Halsey’s So Good music video which was directed by Alev.
“Alev and I first met because he was supposed to write and direct a movie about my life,” Halsey wrote in a June 2022 Instagram post. “we started a family and now he’s written and directed this little film about OUR life. the pangs of longing for what could be…and what became,” she added.
Halsey has been candid about their motherhood experience ever since they welcomed her ‘rainbow’ baby. The singer opened how motherhood changed them “in so many ways.”
Replying to a fan on Twitter, Halsey said, “I feel guilty for working. I feel guilty when I’m not working. I’m terrified I’ll always struggle to live up to my own expectations. But I have also experienced love unlike any other and have finally learned how to ask for help and admit when I’m lonely or in need.”
