Janhvi Kapoor is currently promoting her upcoming film ‘Ulajh,’ set to release on August 2. In a candid discussion, she shared her displeasure with how paparazzi capture female actors’ photos from behind, often using clickbait captions like ‘Guess who is the actor?’ to attract attention.
Janhvi Speaks Out Against Paparazzi Culture
In a recent interview with Hauterrfly, Janhvi opened up about her frustration with the invasive behavior of paparazzi. She recounted an incident during the promotions of ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ where she requested them not to click pictures from unflattering angles. “I think I said something while promoting Mahi, ‘Please galat angle se mat lena (Please don’t click from a wrong angle),’ and since then they have been like, ‘Nahi, nahi hum peeche se nahi lenge! Are mudo mudo (No, we will not click from behind. Turn around)!’”
Janhvi’s Concerns Over Clickbait Culture
Janhvi highlighted how these behind-the-back photos often come with captions that encourage clickbait, drawing maximum views but compromising her privacy. She stated, “Even if it is a demonstration, I really appreciate it. They put like, ‘Guess who is this’ from the back shot, and that gets the maximum amount of clickbait. So, of course, they will pick on that, but I don’t think that justifies such decisions.”
She emphasized that this practice makes her uncomfortable, adding, “I can say that I don’t like how I am being shown in this. I am not comfortable with people seeing this much of me that way. They are forced to listen to me because this is my decision and my choice.”
