Kangana Ranaut: In a recent social media outburst, actor and politician Kangana Ranaut criticised the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024, calling it a “blasphemous rendition of The Last Supper.” Using her Instagram Stories on Saturday, Kangana shared various pictures and videos from the event, expressing her discontent, particularly with the inclusion of a child in the performance.

Sharing a video from the event, Kangana wrote, “The Paris Olympics is under fire for including a child in their hyper-s*xualized, blasphemous rendition of The Last Supper. An apparent child could be seen joining the drag queens during the performance. They also showed a naked man painted blue as Jesus and mocked Christianity. Leftists totally hijacked Olympics 2024. Shame.”
She posted a photo of a man with blue body paint, captioning it, “Naked body painted Christ at the Olympics opening in Paris (person facepalming emoji).” In another picture, she commented, “This is how France welcomed the world for 2024 Olympics …. And what is the message of such acts ?? Welcome to the world of Satan?? Is this what they want to show??”
Kangana also shared a collage of the acts, questioning, “At Olympics opening everything was about being homosexual, I am not against homosexuality but this is beyond me how Olympics is related to any sexuality?? Why games, sports participation of all nations to claim human excellence being taken over by sex?? Why can’t sex stay in our bedrooms?? Why it has to be a national identity? This is bizarre!!”

Following the video’s circulation on social media, netizens voiced their opinions on the “The Last Supper” performance. One user remarked, “This is crazy. Opening your event by replacing Jesus and the disciples at The Last Supper with men in drag. There are 2.4 billion Christians on earth, and apparently the Olympics wanted to declare loudly to all of them, right out of the gate NOT WELCOME.”
Another user commented, “To all the Christians of the world who are watching the #Paris2024 ceremony and felt insulted by this drag queen parody of the Last Supper, know that it is not France that is speaking but a left-wing minority ready for any provocation. #notinmyname”
A third user added, “First, they replaced the cross on Les Invalides in Paris with a different design for the official poster of the 2024 Olympic Games in France. Now, they have mocked Jesus’ Last Supper at the opening ceremony.”
