CISF Clarifies Position Amid Controversy

To provide further clarification, the CISF has released a statement. Speaking with ANI, a spokesperson said, “CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur, who allegedly slapped BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, is still suspended and a departmental inquiry against her is still on.”

For the uninformed, Kangana was slapped at the Chandigarh Airport on June 6 as she was on her way to New Delhi by a female CISF constable who was on duty. The female CISF employee, known only as Kulwinder Kaur, claimed to be offended by Kangana’s remark about Punjabi women during the farmers’ protests against the three agricultural laws, implying that they took part in the demonstrations in order to get money.

Incident at Chandigarh Airport

Actually Kangana released a video in which she addressed the incident. “I have been getting a lot of phone calls from the media and my well-wishers. I am safe, I am perfectly fine. What happened at the Chandigarh airport today was during the security check. When I left after the security check, the CISF personnel hit me on my face. She abused me. When I asked her why she did it, she told me that she supports farmers’ protests. I am safe but my concern is, how do we handle terror in Punjab?”
