Kangana Ranaut, who is currently at the receiving end of backlash from the Maharashtra government over her remarks comparing Mumbai to PoK, has been approved ‘Y’ level security from the Centre.
The Panga actress is currently involved in a verbal spat with Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut which has sparked massive controversy with Mumbaikars appealing to boycott the actress.
“If Kangana doesn’t feel safe in Mumbai, then she shouldn’t come to Mumbai,” several prominent personalities including political leaders emphasised.
After this Kangana declared that she will be coming to her Mumbai residence on September 9th, but mentioned that she has been receiving threats from the Shiv Sena supporters. Amid the rising security concerns, the Home Ministry has granted her the Y + security.
The ministry has decided to grant Ranaut Y-plus category security in the light of a latest threat to her after she claimed that drug use among actors in film industry is common. She was referring to the NCB involvement in the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Kangana thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a tweet, saying he kept the words of an Indian daughter.
“This is proof that no fascist will be able to crush a patriotic voice, I am thankful to @AmitShah ji, because of the circumstances, he would advise me to go to Mumbai after a few days, but he kept the words of a daughter of India, respected our self-respect. Jai Hind,” she wrote in Hindi.
Earlier, rumours were rife that the Himachal Pradesh government will provide security to Ranaut on her arrival to Mumbai, after her father wrote Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to provide security for Ranaut’s safety.
